Description: Chantilly is a 4-year-old short-hair female cat. Her adoption fee is $55. Chantilly has tested positive for FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus). FIV is a virus that suppresses a cat’s immune system. This means they are more susceptible to illnesses. Recovery time of illnesses may also be lengthened. FIV infects 3-5% of the cat population. The virus can most commonly be spread through deep bite wounds from an infected cat. So, an FIV-positive and FIV-negative cat can live together as long as they are introduced slowly, properly, and are completely friendly with one another. It cannot be transmitted to people. If you would like more information about FIV cats, please email the Adoption Team at
[email protected]. If you are interested in adopting a cat from HSPC, please complete our adoption application. Approved applicants will be contacted within 3 working days for an appointment. We operate by appointment only. Our online application can be found at: https://hspcwi.org/adopt/ All cats adopted through HSPC are spayed/neutered, microchipped, FeLV & FIV tested, and receive core vaccinations (younger kittens may not be fully vaccinated due to age). If you have any questions or concerns, please email the Cat Adoption Manager at
[email protected] We look forward to introducing you to your new cat!
